LOCATION
Vicolozano is a town belonging to the municipality of Avila, autonomous community of Castilla y Leon (Spain). It is located five kilometers from the capital and 1184 meters above sea level. It is currently a district of the capital and has 62 inhabitants, being until the late twentieth century an independent municipality that included the nearby town of Brieva.
According to documents in the Provincial Historical Archive, the name of the village derives from the unknown character 'Obieco Loçano', and its existence was already certified in the first quarter of the 14th century.
