Hello friends, allow us to introduce ourselves, we are Fernando and Tamara, the ones in charge that everyone leaves here rested, happy, eaten, not so drunk and with a little less money in their pockets. As you may already know, we try to make sure that everyone finds a familiar and fun atmosphere, so our intention is not to be serious in our dealings, but in our work?
Back in the 90's our adventure began with the dream of Maria del Carmen, to put a business selling typical products to market the honey that Juan Francisco "Quico for friends" produced along with his partner and friend Valerio, whom we remember with great affection.
We found a perfect building that was also in a strategic location, but as in all dreams there was a drawback, it was in ruins, so we had to rebuild it. Not without much work we managed to raise one of the buildings with more history of the area, the dining room had served as a stable for the animals and dormitory for dealers and humble people who had to rest on their trips between the capital and the villages in the area, even an improvised delivery room according to the testimonies of people in the area who claim to have been born there ...
The inauguration came with a party for the whole family where Quico baptized that building with the name of "Venta el colmenar". Without hardly realizing it, in a short time we went from selling our honey, cheeses and other typical products, to serving beers, coffees, rations and meals. Imagine the scene: Quico at the bar, Maricarmen in the kitchen, three young boys of barely twelve years old, divided between the kitchen, the dining room, the bar? and a little girl, asleep on a pile of chairs in the warmth of the fireplace, there were more and more people and we were not prepared, the dining room had a concrete floor, the kitchen was very small, the "plomos" were jumping every night when there were more people because the installation was not prepared for so much "tralla", any friend or family member who came to see us had to work because we were not able to cope, it would not be fair if I did not highlight the great work of grandfather Jacinto, Uncle Faustino, grandmother Teresa and many friends who were always willing to work hard without asking for anything in return. In 2004 Tamara joined the team, she started in the kitchen,
Little by little and with a lot of hard work we grew, we managed to start two rural houses and, currently, a cozy hostel with 19 rooms.
The story continues and we would love you to continue being part of it..
